Dublin City University (DCU) TTO
As the gateway for doing business with DCU, Invent works with researchers to collaborate with industry through the licensing of our intellectual property or the creation of new IP through research partnerships. We provide training, mentoring and business support for staff and students to start spinout companies. We also work with Irish and multinational companies to leverage DCU's expertise to identify new product and process opportunities.
The DCU Licence Express scheme provides fast-track, two-page licences for some of our technologies. At our Invent Centre on the main campus and at our Innovation Campus facility nearby in Glasnevin, we have created an environment where industry can work closely with DCU researchers in modern office and laboratory facilities. We aim to conclude agreements speedily and efficiently. Above all we are easy to do business with.
Invent DCU: Statement from Prof. Greg Hughes, VP for Research and Innovation, DCU
Dublin City University is a research-intensive university that both creates new knowledge and translates it into economic and societal benefits. Working with industry is a key part of DCU's business and our structures are designed to provide ready access to our technologies, facilities and expertise. In order to facilitate these industrial interactions, we have set up the Research Infrastructure Network which enables easy access for companies to the university’s vast array of state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities. Research engagements with the university can be through transfer of intellectual property rights, consultancy work, contract or collaborative research. Please contact one of our business development managers to find out how DCU can help you achieve your goals.
